Uniform Guidelines
Heatherlea Dance encourage all pupils to wear the appropriate uniform. Dancing is a very disciplined art form and so pupils should endeavour to be neat & tidy to look and feel the part. Being well groomed in the proper uniform with hair tied back from the face is an important part of the class, and hopefully will ensure the dancer feels better prepared to work to their potential.
Hair for all classes should be well tied back, away from the face.
Hair for ballet should ideally be in a bun. If this is not possible it should at least be securely tied back in a neat style. Long fringes should be securely gripped away from the face.
No big Jewellery should be worn to dance classes. Small earrings - ideally normal studs are acceptable. No hoop earrings should be worn as these can get caught and be dangerous.

Ballet Uniform
Pre-Primary & Primary Ballet Uniform consists of a short sleeved Pale Blue Leotard & Pale Blue Voile Skirt, alongside Pink Ballet socks worn with Pink Leather Ballet shoes
Grades 1 & 2 Ballet Uniform conists of a Lilac Sleevless Leotard alongside Pink Ballet Socks worn with Pink Leather Ballet Shoes
Grades 3, 4 & 5 Ballet Uniform consists of a Mulberry Sleeveless Leotard along with Pink Ballet Tights worn with Pink Satin Ballet Shoes
Grades 6, 7 & 8 Ballet Uniform consists of a Camisole Leotard in differing colours according to particular class group, worn with a Georgette Full Circular Skirt in matching colour along with Pink Ballet Tights worn with Pink Satin Ballet Shoes
All Grades require a Character Skirt for Character work taken within the RAD Syllabus along with Low Heeled or Cuban Heeled Character Shoes according to Level.
Major Vocational Grades Ballet Uniform consists of Navy Blue Camisole Leotard along with Pink Ballet Tights worn with Pink Satin ballet Shoes
Modern & Tap Uniform
Primary Grades through to Grade 3 wear a Purple Catsuit, White Low Heeled Tap Shoes for tap Classes and Bare Feet for Modern Classes.
Grades 4 through to Majors wear a Black Catsuit, Black Cuban Heeled Tap Shoes for Tap classes and Bare Feet for Modern & Jazz Medal Classes.
